Life After The Quick Start Challenge – Week 1

Introduction It has been a week since the Quick Start Challenge with Dean Holland and Craig Crawford ended. Lessons Learned The challenge was good for me because it gave me a way to come down to earth and start focusing in on  actually doing stuff from some sort of foundation and to some sort of plan. I like to think that I do have a strategic framework. It fits in quite well with what Dean Holland presented during the challenge. Here is a quick reminder of my strategic framework. Bring some combination of skills, knowledge and passion to bear into a strategic focus Choose some product focus within the strategic focus and decide what you are going to promote or...

Week 5: Talking Traffic For List Building

Traffic Frustrations Week 5 webinar on the Quick Start Challenge was all about traffic for our list building. Traffic for list building is a topic that has really frustrated me at the hands of the so-called Internet Marketing gurus. I have heard so many ideas and implemented a mishmash of them. Maybe I should go back to all my notebooks and try to condense everything that has been said and try to distill my own strategic framework out of it all. These are some of the things that stick in my mind: Build a clear image in your mind as to who you are targeting Tighten that image up into a customer avatar (whatever that word means) Focus in on...

Week 5: Quick Start Challenge Video Testimonial

One Last Challenge Week 5 has all been about traffic, paid and free.  Each week of the challenge has had set homework to complete.  This week the homework is to create a video testimonial basically designed to push participants to do the video thing. I have been doing  video for some time now and have included a few as part of my homework – no big deal then to make a video. Last Chance Saloon The Quick Start Challenge is run by Dean Holland and Craig Crawford. I suffer from Shiny Object Syndrome and as part of the cure I designed I had unsubscribed from all email lists apart from a few. One of those surviving emails came from Paul...

Week 4: Start List Mailing

A Better Way We already know that People buy from people they know and trust In this weeks challenge we put a few more bones onto that skeleton.  We were told we really have to get people to know, like and trust us.  That feels like a lot more than just building trust.  What does it take to fulfill those three words? Know Like Trust Success is not going to come from promoting the latest, whizz-bang product that has all the features and benefits and amazing user testimonials.  Those things help but they may not be enough. The best compulsion to buy will come from the person who recommends a product with whom you have the best connection.  I know...

Week 3: Build First Opt-In and Sales Page

Introduction to List Building List building remains the cornerstone of successful Internet Marketing. The basic techniques have not changed much. Offer a free gift that is valuable enough to make someone want to part with their email address. Collect the email addresses and start to run emails. This is step one to building trust. People buy from people they know and trust A newer idea is to build a bridge between the gift collection action and a potential offer that is somewhat related to the gift. This gives another chance to add to the trust and some people will actually buy this early in the process. Week 3 Challenge The challenge for week 3 seemed simple enough. Find a free gift. Build an opt-in...
