Introduction: Making Video Mainstream Video has become mainstream but not in my world. My friend Adam Payne published a blog post filled with video statistics. Here are a few 72% of customers would rather learn about a product or service by way of video. (HubSpot) 50% of internet users looked for online videos related to a product or service they were interested in before visiting the store. (Think with Google) The average user spends over 16 minutes watching video ads every month. (Social Media Today) 78% of people watch online videos every week, and 55% view online videos every day. (HubSpot) I must have been ahead of the curve in 2014 when I said that this was going to be...
Building Financial Freedom I attended a one day seminar workshop with Brendan Nichols over the weekend. The seminar was all about building financial freedom. I have also just finished my 2nd reading of The Iceberg Effect written by my mentor, Dean Holland. The book ultimately boils down to showing a way for building financial freedom. Success Mindset for Wealth Brendan Nichols is an Australian who has been teaching wealth management for a long time – 30 years long. His focus is very much on getting the right mindset for becoming wealthy (i.e., building financial freedom) rather than teaching the (secret ninja) strategies for building wealth. What struck me were the common threads between what he was teaching and what Dean...
Introduction: Review and Optimize Time has been sliding by. That really struck me in short order after I got back from my cycling challenge and got back on the horse. I started to catch up with what I had missed. Two of the things that really caught my attention were videos from Dean Holland. I watched them in reverse order which probably helped get it into my thick skull. It all comes down to review and optimize and 12 months has slid by Firstly, Dean Holland, my mentor, made a rant video to the Internet Profits community. His big message was Working hard does not give you the right to succeed. Working smart does. He issued a challenge to the...
Back on the IM Horse I completed my October cycle challenge – 1,000 kms from Rockhampton to Gold Coast – in the last week of October. I had grand ideas of getting back on the Internet Marketing horse pretty sharply. I did write last time that I was going to change things up a bit and spend less time blogging about investing (once a week instead of every day I make trades). Well I have done that as you will see if you go and look at the Investing blogs menu item above. I did one blog last week and two this week. Next one will be next week. I did spend an afternoon on horse racing. It was...
A Story of Gradual Achievement: Time and Training and Perseverance Been thinking quite a bit these last few weeks about slow progress in Internet Marketing and how lessons learned on the back of a bicycle might be applied. You see, I have just finished a two week cycling trip from Rockhampton to Gold Cost in Queensland, Australia. Not just any cycling trip but a rather long story about cycling going back some 20 years. Rockhampton to Gold Coast Markeri Street in Mermaid Waters, QLD is one of the cross streets that runs at right angles to the Gold Cost beaches and intersects the north-south roads. For everyone other than the people who live on the street it does not mean...
