Introduction: Free Affiliate Marketing Giveaways

In affiliate marketing, there are two key places  where giveaways are essential.  Prospects do not buy straight off a link or a recommendation. They need to be warmed up to grow to know, like and trust you and your offer.  For this you need to build an email list. A giveaway is the key to get people to opt in. Affiliates are competing with each other for attention on the same offers – offering a bonus is a key way to differentiate your particular offer. Giveaways are central to that. The challenge is is it possible to find free affiliate marketing giveaways?

Last time I set out ways to start affiliate marketing free. I highlighted two important action areas.

1. Build an email list
2. Offer some sort of bonus on the products you promote

These both require you to find something of value to give away for free, one as a bribe to convince somebody to hand over their email address and the other as an incentive (bonus if you like) for them to buy through your link. This bonus also helps to differentiate you from all the other affiliates promoting the same offer. Consistent with an approach of starting affiliate marketing free the challenge now is how to find free affiliate marketing giveaways

Now we are going to need at least two – one as a bribe and one as a bonus. Bonuses do need to stand apart so you may need to find a few free affiliate marketing giveaways to combine into a compelling bonus. Remember the challenge is to find something free.

Back to Strategic Framework

Let’s step back then to the strategic framework again.

The image highlights in red text what we are aiming for in this stage. Strategy says we need a focus point. We have already decided what the strategic focus is and the niche we are targeting – say make money online. We are focused in on a specific product we are selling – say affiliate marketing mastery. We want to build an email list and we want to offer a bonus to our buyers. So we have to find a giveaway to entice people to join our email list and one to offer as a bonus. Step one is to make sure the giveaways are consistent with the strategic and product focus. For example: reports related to email marketing and list building would fit really well as list building is a key part of affiliate marketing. Let’s go looking.

Of course, you can compile your own giveaway quite easily. Example: Make a step-by-step guide on how to find products to promote and turn it into a video. Transcribe the words and turn it into a short guide or checklist. Now that takes time and you may not know enough.

Using Free Private Label Rights Products

This is the perfect time to turn to private label rights (PLR) to find free affiliate marketing giveaways.

Check out the video which goes step by step through a few free PLR membership sites and offers some practical advice.

Now there is a lot of PLR around which is dated and a lot of it badly written, often not by native English speakers. To get around those shortcomings, it really pays to choose the leading free PLR Membership sites. Even better to choose one that adds new free PLR on a regular basis. That is why I like Resell Rights Weekly with 2 new items added every week. Of course, you may have better success working with a membership that is focused on your niche. What I am always looking for is stuff that is up to date enough to require only a modest amount of updating. One more factor to consider is how well organised the site is – can you search or find stuff by category drill down?

Of course, you can choose to buy the PLR you want to use for the free giveaway. This way, there will be fewer people using it and you have a chance to stand apart just by paying a little. Now if you are going to be doing quite a few different email list opt-ins or supporting a lot of product launches, you will find good value in upgrading to a paid service.

Choosing An Appropriate Form of PLR

Next topic is deciding what format the giveaways should be in. In the video, I talked mostly about ebooks or guidebooks or checklist type documents. Maybe that is because I am old fashioned. Truth is I find video too slow for me – I can read faster than people can talk. Video is a powerful medium – do not ignore it. Equally you can stand apart by using audio – easy downloads for the phone for listening to on the commute to and from work. Software was once a hot giveaway – remember the old PC magazines with a floppy disk on the front? Free graphics is a strong giveaway as people are always looking for free images – the risks of getting bust using
copyright images are high.

Check Licence Usage Rights

That brings us to usage rights. Be sure to check the usage rights that come with your freebie. If it says Personal Use Only, that is it – for your use and cannot be given away. Lots of Private Label Rights licences specifically exclude free giveaways unless they are part of a bonus offer for a paid product. Read those usage licences with due care. Getting one wrong can be an expensive mistake. This is a bit of a minefield as the language is not always used consistently. You must have giveaway rights for stuff you give away for free. You will generally be OK with private label rights for a bonus offer because someone is buying the product you are promoting.

Last point is to make the offer unique in some way. Easiest way to do that is change the branding (new front cover) and add a section of your own personal experience. “My winning tips for using this report” is an example. Maybe combine more than one ebook into a new report. Now you will find that very few people do this – it is not hard to make your offer stand out.

A Few Product Promotion Ideas

My next video will go into finding products to promote. Let’s cover a few ideas right here. A few of the free PLR membership sites have affiliate programmes even for free members. Sign up and start promoting those in your blogs and on social media. You never know where that first commission could come from.  It also gives you stuff to write about as you use the site to find free affiliate marketing giveaways.

I did highlight in the video a different idea with a twist. Kevin Fahey has made a name for himself selling Internet Marketing Checklists. Use the checklist as your free giveaway and promote any or all of his products. Of course you can use the premium PLR as a bonus too for a paid product. Not a free giveaway but a $29 idea which could save you the challenge of getting requests to promote approved. Now I know this works as I have done it. The process is a manual process and you have to wait for European time zone for approval to come through

Action Summary

1. Identify the niche you want to work in
2. Find products to promote in that niche
3. Build an email list of people interested in that niche
4. Find a piece of PLR from a free PLR membership site to use as a lead magnet
5. Find a few pieces of PLR to use as bonuses for the offer you want to promote
6. Rebrand the PLR in some way to differentiate from your competitors. Add value too by adding in your own twist.
7. Create a landing page for the opt-in lead magnet and link to your list
8. Add the bonus information into the vendor sales process – so customer know how to pick up the bonus.
