What is 50K Case Study?

In 50K Case Study, Kevin talks through the factors that drove the success of his Fresh Online Reports launch. The case study starts a little top down conversation comparing two recent product launches Kevin has done – Top 5% Transformation and Fresh Online Reports. You can read my reviews for Top 5 here and Fresh here .  Kevin runs product launches in something of a cycle – big launches followed by a few quick launches. What he typically does is layer products that he already has into the back of the funnels even for the quick launches. The discussion about understanding the psychology of buyers is important as it gives the foundation for price points especially for info products and the structure of price points through the funnels. He is always aiming to get improving conversions trough the back end of the funnels.  A lot of marketers get this wrong.

The next area of conversation s about recruiting affiliates and suggested commission structures and prize contests. Notably Kevin uses different structures based on price points – many marketers do not do that. They tend to nickel and dime here. This then links into the discussion about prize contests. Prize contests do help drive additional traffic – a few handy hints about applying minimum sales levels and how to do that fairly. One key point is to give affiliates enough time to get prepared. Not every affiliate is like me and doing stuff at the last minute.

The discussion around sales page design is best exemplified by looking at two sales pages. One is designed to be a bit more professional and the other is designed to be a bit more conversational. Getting affiliates on board is a key part of succeeding with product launches. There is an interplay that runs here built on building reputation. Easy for Kevin Fahey to talk about as he has built the reputation. It is all about offering quality products and focusing one’s own affiliate promotions on quality products – spread them out a bit. This thought is reinforced in the WarriorPlus discussion especially given they are moving to a reputation based model for choosing Deal of the Day. It is not just about the numbers. The last module begins to integrate your approach to selling and promoting quality products – the clue lies in the follow up automation. I have to say there are very few vendors that are doing this well. Over the years I have bought a lot of products – it really grates me when I keep getting emails for products I have already bought. Even worse when I get an email offering an amazing Black Friday deal on something I paid full price for a few months prior. As a vendor, this is totally in your control – use tags to segment your lists and keep the buyers separate from the prospects. As an affiliate promoter, it is a little harder as you do not get the email address for the buyers. I have started using a mailgate on the bonus delivery process to get that – then I can segment. The discussion about how to automate is useful as a starting point – working out the details for your own autoresponder is best done using their training tools. And if your autoresponder does not offer rules based automation, get one that does like Aweber or Getresponse
